Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Will moving my show to Megaphone mean people have to subscribe again? 

A: No! When we migrate your show from your current host to Megaphone we’ll set up a redirect so your current subscribers will download and listen like always. Your old links will also continue to work. 

We’ll walk you thought all of this and take care of the details. 

Q: When I’m on the network, will I have access to my show statistics and content? 

A: Yes. You will have access to your show on Megaphone with your own login and credentials. You can see show stats and make updates as well. 

Q: Does the network own my content? 

A: NO. Your content belongs to you 100%. We are your partner and collaborator to help you grow your impact. You maintain creative control of your show and the content you produce. 

Q: How do ads work? 

A: You can participate in the SPAN network (Spotify Audience Network) that will place ads in your show where you’ve designated ad breaks. These are targeted to your listeners, meaning different ads may run depending on who has downloaded the show. You keep 75% of the available payout.

We also have an agency that can represent your show, providing you the opportunity to do ad reads for brands that resonate with you and your listeners. There are specific requirements to qualify for the program and we’ll walk you through how that works. 

SoundAdvice.FM may also bring additional sponsorship opportunities for you as well. 

You will always have the opportunity to opt-in or out of ad placements and sponsorships to you can be confident that you are always putting your valuable content and audience first. 

Q: Can I pause my podcast or end it completely while I’m on the network? 

A: You own your show so you can decide how and when to publish. Your commitment to the network is for one year, so payments will continue through 12 months if you opted in for the monthly plan. If you want your show to remain active (still available on the apps) a hosting fee will also be added and varies depending on your download volume. 

Q: Can I leave the network? 

A: We hope you never want to do that, but if you choose to you certainly can. Any unpaid months will still be collected and there are no refunds for the lifetime or annual memberships. 

The expense of moving your show or downloading your content before your show is removed will be charged to you as well. This varies and if you decide you need to make this move, we’ll provide you with specific costs and processes.
